William John Potts establishes a printing and publishing business, operating from the Atlas Printing Works, North Shields.
1900
The company specialises in local tourism guides, shipping industry manuals & general commercial printing.
1954
Business incorporated as Potts Printers Limited.
1975
Potts move to first purpose built factory unit based at Waterville Road, in North Shields.
1990
Significant growth with investment in new presses and the securing of long-term public sector printing contracts.
1993
The company moves to bigger premises based at Oak Road, West Chirton, North Shields.
2000
Relocation to 24,000 square feet HQ & Production Facility, Stuart House, located on the Tyne Tunnel Estate, North Shields.
2004
Named as 7th fastest growing print company in the UK by PrintWeek magazine. Potts invest over £1.5m in state-of-the-art, pre-press and press equipment ISO9001 Quality Management certification achieved.
2005
Potts achieve both ISO14001 Environmental Management and OHSAS18001 Health and Safety Management certification.
2006
Move to 50,000 square foot HQ in Cramlington, Northumberland with £4m investment in pre-press, press, finishing, warehousing & logistics.
2007
Potts are awarded FSC and PEFC certificates.
