Potts go global with standard for packaging
Printing and packaging company Potts have been awarded the BRC/IOP Global Standard for Food and Non-food Packaging that sees the company chalk up their sixth accreditation in less than three years.
The BRC (British Retail Consortium) and IOP (Institute of Packaging) standard is awarded to companies who are can demonstrate an effective management system of hygiene, quality and safety in the production of printed cartons for both food items and non-food items. The requirement is a pre-requisite of supply credentials in the printed food packaging industry.
Potts already supply a wide range of printed packaging to the DIY, cosmetics and giftware markets. In particular, Potts already supply bespoke packaging to Ringtons, the tea and coffee company, who recommended Potts as a supplier to Marks and Spencer.
Potts' Corporate Services Manager, Carla Reeves says: “This certificate rubber stamps Potts' status as a supplier to high street retailers such as Marks & Spencer, Tesco, ASDA and Boots. We passed the BRC audit with flying colours, as many of the BRC procedures and working practices we already had in place”
The BRC/IOP standard adds to Potts' existing ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 accreditations, in addition to FSC and PEFC certification achieved at the beginning of 2007.

In addition to corporate and marketing printing services, Potts offer full packaging design, including CAD and sample making/mock-up services, printing, die cutting and carton gluing.
