A New Chapter Begins
One of the region’s longest established printing firms, Potts, has recently moved into a state-of-the-art print facility and headquarters at Nelson Park, Cramlington, as a new chapter in their story begins.
As well as relocating with 110 staff, the expansion has also seen a vast range of the latest high tech equipment installed in to the 50,000 sq ft site, to allow the company to reach its vision to double turnover to over £15m by 2010.
Two new Agfa Avalon B1 Violet platesetters (a world first), a MAN Roland 6 colour 706 B1 press, a 6 station Muller Martini stitching line, an Iberica B1 die cutting machine and a Signature folder gluer, have all being installed during September and October, complementing Potts already extensive range of pre-press, print and finishing equipment..
Potts began as a family run business more than 130 years ago in North Shields, and is now one of the most progressive print companies in the UK.
The new site will be called Atlas House, named in tribute to the very first Potts site which was established in the 1800’s on the north of the River Tyne. As well as the 50,000sq ft of office, production and warehouse space already developed, Potts has also bought another 50,000 sq ft of land adjacent to the building, which will be developed during 2007 to create a storage and logistics operations centre.
