Potts Printers and Inkland score World first!

North Shields based Potts Printers have scored a world first after placing an order for the new Agfa Avalon B1 Violet Plate-setter with North-East Agfa dealer Inkland.

The machine was launched to the World Press on February 22nd, coinciding with a visit by Potts to Agfa’s HQ in Belgium. Potts placed their order the same day.

"We have been in negotiations with Inkland for a number of months now with the view to adding a B1 plate-setter to our existing Agfa Workflow and B2 output. The new release of the Avalon was perfect timing for us" commented Shaun Currie, Managing Director of Potts.

"I was delighted with the news of the launch of the Avalon, it fills a gap in our Agfa portfolio and is the perfect solution for Potts plans" remarked Steve Wilson, Managing Director of Inkland. "Potts are very comfortable with the Apogee X workflow and this new 30 plate an hour output device will be a bolt on addition to their extremely efficient bureau department."

News of the order comes hot on the heels of Potts’ recent order for a new Roland 700 6-Colour B1 Press - a purchase that will enhance the company’s strong competitive edge in the UK B2B, commercial and packaging markets."

"We carried out Press trials at Man Roland’s HQ in Germany and were pleased to see Agfa Apogee X Workflow feeding their Press Hall," commented Shaun Johnson, Production Director at Potts. "This confirmed our continued commitment to Agfa Products"

Potts currently supply commercial and packaging print to many local, national and European blue-chip companies. They are also one of only a handful of UK printing companies to hold ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 accreditations.

Established in 1875, Potts employs 105 staff at their North Shields headquarters and is looking to exceed their target of GBP15m by 2010.
